Raised in Dalmasca by a Bangaa (thus her unique name), Yzerevaq always dreamed of being a sky pirate like her father. His work on engines and machines often brought him into contact with his old crew, and when Yzerevaq was old enough, she was finally allowed to join them. Sailing the skies and providing muscle for their operation was everything she could have ever hoped for, and she always brought back her tales of adventure to her father with a smile on her face.
That is, until she took out the eye of a rival sky pirate captain and everything quickly fell apart. Deciding that the only way to keep Yzerevaq safe (both from the rival captain and from shoving her whole foot in her mouth and making the situation worse) was to send her away for a time, her father got in contact with a friend from Eorzea and shipped Yzerevaq off there. Dismayed at being split from the live she so loves and her friends, but eager for new adventures, Yzerevaq currently takes on whatever jobs she can get for coin. As an adventurer, she's a pretty good shot and skilled with her blades; she always has loved a good fight, after all.

With hair and eyes that bright, it would be hard for Yzerevaq to blend into a crowd, despite her short stature. That's just fine by her, though, as Yzerevaq likes attention and takes good care of her appearance. She dresses to show off her figure and always exudes an air of confidence no matter what she's doing. She's expressive, bold, and unapologetically herself. Link to some more images!

The less said about her past before she became "Yzerevaq", the better. She lived in an orphanage where she was treated poorly and was ultimately saved by a Bangaa named Rhavar - her father figure - who gave her a new name and a new life. He took her in and tried to teach her his trade, though repairing machines and building them was a bit beyond Yzerevaq.
Instead, she took to combat. An excellent shot from even an early age, Yzerevaq greatly enjoyed learning to wield weapons and was always eager to keep practicing even after her training was done. While she may not have been smart enough for the machines her father worked on or a skilled actress or merchant, she could provide combat support, which was very important for her dream job.
Rhavar had once worked as a sky pirate, fixing airships and navigating for the crew of the Jackdaw. In fact, he still routinely does repairs for them, and Yzerevaq desperately wanted to be just like her dad. She wanted to be a sky pirate, and if she couldn't win her way to the position through guile or talent, then she could earn it through muscle. When she was old enough, her father finally let her go, and she was accepted into Crimson Lotus's crew.
Sailing the skies together and attacking other ships (usually Garlean) was something Yzerevaq had always dreamed of, and it was everything she had wanted it to be. She always returned home to tell her father of her adventures with a smile, and was always eager to set out for the next one.
But this all came to an abrupt end when one of their rival sky pirate ships came to a clash with the Jackdaw. Yzerevaq managed to take out the eye of the rival captain, a Bangaa woman named Ra'Raek - and this woman was known not only for her fury, but also her never-ending desire for vengeance and brutality. Crimson Lotus decided she didn't want Yzerevaq's blood on her hands, so she was dismissed from the crew and told to find a place to hide until Ra'Raek's rage had calmed some. Rhavar shipped Yzerevaq off to a friend in Eorzea, and so she didn't really want to go, Yzerevaq went.
Now working as an adventurer and taking odd jobs, she has seen much of Eorzea and the surrounding lands, though is always eager to learn more. Putting coin in her pocket is her main focus until she can return home, but it seems there's always something interesting to find here. While she misses home and her crew dearly, Yzerevaq is starting to enjoy her time here more and more.
